State employees endorse Rusty Grills in Special Election for State House District 77

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Employees Action Movement (TEAM-PAC) endorses Rusty Grills, R-Newbern, in the special election for State House District 77.

“Working to support candidates who will work with state employees on challenging issues and can be effective at the state legislature is a central goal for TEAM-PAC. For these reasons, we are proud to endorse Rusty Grills in the Special Election for State House District 77,” TEAM-PAC Administrative Committee Chair Patricia Bowman said. “Rusty Grills is a leader that state employees have confidence will listen to their concerns and will work with them on common-sense solutions to their issues, and that is why he has our support.”

After interviewing both the Democratic and Republican candidates for State House District 77, the officers of TSEA’s Reelfoot Chapter recommended endorsement of Rusty Grills. The TEAM-PAC administrative committee voted to concur with the recommendation from the chapter.

There will be a special election for District 77 of the Tennessee House of Representatives on Thursday, December 19, 2019. Early voting is from Saturday, November 30 to Saturday, December 14, 2019. House District 77 became vacant after Bill Sanderson (R) resigned his seat on July 24, 2019, citing family and business demands.

Solely funded by Tennessee state employees, TEAM-PAC is the political action committee of the Tennessee State Employees Association. Founded in 1974, TSEA represents the rights and interests of 40,000 state employees in Tennessee and has a rich history of improving the lives of its state employee members.
